Moss mirrors have been trending for well over a year now. What's not to love? Mirrors reflect light and make a space look larger plus the greenery bring a pinch of the outside inside. After reviewing a couple online options for moss mirrors priced over $1,000, I decided to craft my own DIY version of the moss mirror for around $150.

MATERIALS NEEDED
Craft Moss (2 - 3 colors, types)
Hot glue gun with extra glue
Scissors
Wet erase marker
*Look for a mirror with a lip on the frame to help keep the moss on the mirror.
A word about the moss: I used dried or preserved moss, not living moss for this project. It was easier to work with and I didn't have to worry about keeping it hydrated. Here are links to the exact mosses used for this project.
Dried sheet moss (2 bags)
HOW TO
Prepare your surface. I found this to be quite a messy project. You will want to cover your table with newspaper, cardboard or plastic before getting to work.
Gather your supplies. Not listed above, but recommended are work gloves or a finger protector. It never fails the hot glue can "get you" when you're working with a hot glue gun - protect your fingers/hands from burns.
On your mark... use a wet erase marker to outline the area, shape and size you want your moss to cover on your mirror.
Layout. Working in small sections, start to lay out the moss using a variety of colors and types of moss. Use your hot glue gun to adhere the moss to the mirror.
Fill in the gaps. Fill in any open gaps and add any florals to your liking. I added a few natural dried fern leaves into the moss.

It's time to carefully hand-vac up the larger pieces of moss all over your mirror. Stand up the mirror, give it a little jiggle, touch-up any loose areas with the glue gun and get ready to hang your DIY moss mirror! This is the perfect project for smaller, darker room, or rooms that could use a little greenery without taking up much space!
